John Gordon
PhD ScD - Chairman
Before founding Quercus, John worked at Beecham
Research, Cambridge University,
the MRC and British Biotech. He now acts as consultant or non-executive
director for investors, advisers and biotech companies in the UK
and North America and has served on various Government
and Research Council committees. He was the founding chairman of Oxfordshire BiotechNet and
Manchester Innovation.

Sally Adams
MA PhD - Biotechnology
After post-doctoral work at Oxford University,
Sally joined British Biotech, where she was responsible for vaccines,
production of biopharmaceuticals and neuro-inflammatory
programmes. Sally specialises
in providing drug development advice and interim management to start-up
biotech companies; she joined Quercus in 1998.

Diana Hawkins
BSc MA - Company Secretary
After a senior administrative position at the Cambridge
Clinical School,
Diana joined Oxford Psychologists Press, with responsibility for Company
Administration, Personnel and Paralegal work. She has been a Director of Quercus since 1996.

Nick Scott-Ram
MA PhD MBE - Patents and Corporate
In addition to senior positions at Fermentech,
Oxford Virology and British Biotech, Nick has chaired committees on
Intellectual Property and Regulatory Affairs for the BIA , ABPI and EuropaBio.
Nick joined Quercus in 1997 and was awarded the MBE
for services to biotechnology in 2001.

Russell Smith
MD PhD - Drug Development
After positions in Marion Merrell Dow as Senior Clinical Research Scientist
and European Product Development Team Leader, Russell was Director of
Pharmaceutical Development at British Biotech. He joined Quercus
in 1998 and founded Business Boffins (which
provides Small Business support) in
2001.
